Same here. But EVSE is not a device that should "save lives". It should charge vehicle. Safely.
Charging safe for vehicle and operator. Not for rodents and children.
And again, with or without safety device in the main box, whole cable is live when vehicle is charging.

No, the AT&T extenders only allow access to the specific numbers you specify. You need to have a wireless account with AT&T to activate one of their extenders and use it. Your only hope is one of the generic repeaters that is configured for the frequency bands AT&T uses. You might look at setting up a solar-powered unit on top of the hill with a directional repeater antenna pointed at your house.

I would be afraid to drive a vehicle that is capable of automatically applying full panic braking without driver action with the system warning light on. This feature (along with lane assist automation) will keep me from buying any new vehicle unless they can be fully disabled. I would be surprised if a dealer would release the car with the system warning present (liability concerns).

I would hope that the feature would be disabled if a fault is detected, but they did give me a loaner to drive while the part was on order for that reason.

Reddy wrote:What WetEV said. Temperatures above 70-80 F is the major reason for battery degradation, followed by time at high SOC, number of charge-discharge cycles, and calendar time. The higher the temps, the faster the degradation, which is why AZ, TX, HI, and FL Leafs were early indicators. We should know more about the 40KWh batteries after the summer. Bottom line: use and enjoy your EV, but plan on battery degradation.

Its too bad the 80% charging is gone. Would be really interested in seeing side by side of two cars in the Southern tier. One always doing 80% (which is a bit high but close enough) verses one who charges "normally"

Now I have had mine 2 months and 7 weeks of that time was during extreme driving need and I found the range to be sufficient in most cases that it was easy to park the car overnight at 50-70% SOC without range concerns. I did charge to full but most were for range or QC tests with only a handful due to driving need keeping in mind one week I exceeded 200 miles a day 3X.

I have had it for about 30 days. 2 weeks ago I spent the $199 to upgrade the TCU so I can utilize the App. In 2 weeks my 12v battery died and yesterday I was left stranded. Thankfully these forums confirmed others with the same issue. Had to have my Leaf towed to the dealer who will see what they can do on Monday. I chatted with a Nissan rep yesterday. They started "we are aware that there have been cases where the new TCU can drain the 12volt battery" What the heck Nissan?? You are knowingly inserting a defect into our vehicles . Very disappointed and embarrassed as I had friends and our plans for the day totally ruined. I have owned Nissans for the past 25 years. Beginning to question my recent Nissan purchase. I have owned(Maxima,Pathfinder,Xterra,Altima,Rogue)

Thinking Class Action Lawsuit anyone interested in joining ?

I am not interested in a class action--I have only had a handful of times that my upgraded TCU needed to be reset (see information about disconnecting 12-volt battery or pulling fuse). You could have just jump started the Leaf and driven it to charge the 12-volt battery. I doubt there is anything the dealer can do except clear error codes and charge the 12-volt battery. They could remove the TCU, but you will lose remote access.

What is right about the caltrans proposal below:

About half of the DC sites are along fairly remote roads, effectively infilling existing or expected DC infrastructure, justifying direct governmental action, IMO.

What is wrong?

Almost everything else...

Incredibly expensive installations of single DC-chargers, often at poor sites w/o desirable amenities,"no user cost"... and already many years too late.

...In accordance with the Governor 's 2016 ZEV Action Plan, the 2017-18 State Budget, and
Senate Bill 1, the Department has identified 10 projects that will enable the Department to
upgrade Department-owned, publicly accessible facilities with Electric vehicle (EV)
infrastructure. These projects will upgrade 37 existing facilities, including 29 Safety Roadside
Rest Areas, four Maintenance stations, two District offices and one Park and Ride lot.
Improvements will upgrade electrical systems, construct charging station pads, purchase and
install EV chargers, complete environmental analysis, provide traffic control, complete

And even the OEM Ecopia "Plus" as fitted to the VW eGolf is pretty good too. After 20k miles, mine are in better shape than the ones on my Leaf at the same mileage.

Nissan really cheaped out with the specs of their tire, not helped by the low recommended tire pressure (VW recommends 41 psi).

I have the same issue in My 18 Leaf... Try talking into the MIC (which I believe is in the sun-glass holder area) seems to work a bit better, At least it can send out the message. I use a Galaxy S8 - Android 8.

This year we might be preemptively replacing our 16 year old central air-conditioner and completely ditching the 16 year old gas furnace as you suggested.

We would consider the most efficient Trane as previously mentioned, but this brand might be among the priciest. The Rheem RP20 series is 20 SEER/11HSPF, so would like to cross shop that as well.
I'm very happy with the 11+-year-old Trane unit that we have currently. The only problems I have had so far are the following:

1) The dual capacitor in the outdoor unit failed and had to be replaced. (It cost me about $25.)
2) A 5A automotive-style fuse blows when the batteries in the thermostat get low. That one only cost me a few fuses, but it took quite a bit of time to figure out what was going on.

OTOH, I hated the York unit that was replaced by the Trane.

It's funny that I have cloth seats and have put on faux Leather seat covers on the car.

The new poster got beautiful leather, and will cover them with Velour!! I guess that we all want what we don't have.

Anyway, I had Neoprene seats, which did not smell, and the heat from the heated seats worked fine...

SEAT PROBLEM? Fix....

LOSE WEIGHT.... Exercise, Eat low fat high fiber diet with lots of fresh vegetables and avoid salt, sugar and flower. The seat is not to narrow, your a$$ is too big.... :D:roll::lol:

Nissan needs to up it's range. Older ones are sub 100 miles and do not have ACTIVE COOLING of battery as the BOLT HAS, this some battery life issues. The NEW NISSAN still barely has real world +100 mile range.

In 6 months of ownership, I just had my first almost dead getting home, with my 2015 Nissan Leaf SV. I ended up not charging it for about 6 hours. It was totally dead throwing seek service, all dash lights flashing and inability to charge. The lead acid battery was also dead. Oh yea that FLA battery dying is also another issue. I think I know why or at least how to prevent it, have it plugged in when ever parked.

Right now have 11 bars and my real world range is 80 miles at best... it says 89 or something like that. Since I am careful, always plan to never go below 20% to 15% (except yesterday), that is about 50-60 miles real world range. That is OK for my RT commute of 36 miles, but give me a break. Now it is getting hot I will be using AC. I got the car in October. I have not used AC except a short period to defrost windshield. I am guessing my 60 miles (with reserve) will go to 50 miles...... the battery is too small. 50Kwh battery is the MIN...

Nissan going to 30KWH is too little too late. They will need to up their game. I am thinking of unloading my Nissan Leaf after 6 months. I am pissed it went to 11 bars right after I got it. It is only 3 years old.... I am guessing I will not get to 8 bars by end of warranty but close to it.... Then I will be looking at a $6,000 bill, HALF of what I paid for this thing.

BACK TO TOPIC... THE BOLT KICKS RANGE ASS...... I talked to a lady with a new BOLD at the park where the freebee charge stations are. She DROVE IT straight from Saint Louis where she bought it, straight to Memphis.. 280 miles! !!!! Try that in the LEAF... that would be for me 3 or 4 charges.
With that said the BOLT is a smaller car. The LEAF is very roomy, too roomy. It has a ton of head room... I kind of wish they had lowered the roof a bit, but all that window and head room is nice for volume. Nissan is at the bottom have end of the EV's... It is OK, but again for the price they need to up the game. I do think the Nissan is a better car all-around, but that damn range limit is not up to the current standards even with 30KWh battery.
