Minor update: I've been tweaking the setup just because it was bugging me that the driver side rear was just a tad higher than the passenger rear. Took the springs out and readjusted them and luckily I did, I found that a plastic insulator was installed upside down and was a little deformed. But reinstalled it and the weight of the car should flatten it back to normal. Of course I couldn't stop there, I adjusted the front again and lowered it just a bit more and now its a finger gap and the rear has about a 2 finger gap. I still have the difference between the left and right rear. It's about a 1/4 difference between the two sides. But the springs were adjusted exactly between side to side for the fronts and back respectively. Just not sure why one side is just a bit higher?? I will just have to let that go, can't really tell by the naked eye unless you're looking for it.

BTW, since I lowered the front just a bit more I took it for a quick spin again and tried a hard turn at a higher speed and went through a slight dip where the water flows and the front did rub a little. I guess I don't need to make turns that fast normally anyways. Will have to see if the alignment will help or make any difference. Still need to figure out if the rear camber can be adjusted. Now that I dialed everything in, I am getting a rattle when going over small imperfections in the road, I double checked everything and everything is tight. Not really sure if its coming from the suspension or the firmness of the suspension is bringing out the rattles on this car. Will have to track it down or else it will annoy me.

charging on generator

I recommend a single resistor from neutral to ground because the generator returns to floating neutral operation if the resistor connection(s) come loose. With resistors connected to both hot lines (X and Y on your L14-30 receptacle), failure of one resistor will result in shifting the voltage so that neutral could be as much as 120 volts with respect to ground. Since most generators have duplex receptacles in addition to the twist lock, an easy way to create the neutral to ground reference is to connect a resistor between neutral and ground terminals in a replacement 15-ampere plug (no cord needed). Then you simply insert the grounding plug into one of the duplex receptacles when you need it.

Has anybody seen their Leaf keep the battery at 14.4V and the 3rd charging light blinking for over 9 hours long (car not plugged in)?
I am a bit worried about the aux battery being cooked to death with such high voltage for so long, while it is pretty warm today (28degC = 82 degF) as well as my main battery getting depleted, only 3 bars left (20 mi range) and the DC/DC is humming along and the waterpumps pushing water around for cooling - all coming from the main battery from noon till 9PM so I am concerned what I will find tomorrow morning - dead main battery?
My Leaf is a 2012 that had a warranty battery replacement earlier this year (so, SW upgrades have been done)
and also needed a new 12V battery a month later.
Now again a few months later I have used the car very little until this last week, since then I have driven it almost every day, charged several times and last time was Friday night/Sat morning charged to 100% and moved the car around a bit but not really driven it any distance.
Parked the car in garage Sat night and Sunday noon time noticed the 3rd blue charging indicator blinking and soft humming (water pump) coming from car. Checked if any of the timers were active, but no climate or other timers present, so I measured the aux battery and found it to be held at 14.4V
I have searched but could not find anyone mention how long the 3rd charging light would remain blinking and 12V battery being charged without the car being plugged in. 9 hours seems to be an excessive time, especially since at the beginning of the weekend the car was charged.
Any ideas?
Seeing the history of battery failure earlier this year, could there be a malfunction that causes the car to keep charging?
As far as I know the Over-the-Air telecommunication module was not upgraded, so no Carwings should be active (no remote climate control)
Any help appreciated.

Considering purchasing 2012 with new battery, how does this look?

I sold my 2011 Leaf with 62,000 miles on it about 7 months after I got a new traction battery to a friend that wanted a used EV. She is retired and wanted one for limited driving around town. Then I moved up to a 2017 Leaf.

The AHr reading for the new battery in my 2011 Leaf was at 66.14 for several months before it started a slow change downward. I don't think you need to do a range test drive. It should give you decent range for a 24 kWh battery, and good regen.

My suggestions to the new owner were:
1). Do a break fluid flush replacement, after driving and getting familiar with the breaking. I had done one three years earlier.
2) keep an eye on the 12v battery. I had already replaced it about a year and a half earlier so it should be good for awhile, but take steps to make sure you don't accidentally drain it down. Occasionally give it an separate charge on a good battery charger.
3) you could also change the cabin air filter if desired.

Enjoy

These are my stats from another 2015 "Atlanta" car.

Mileage 30,867
GIDs 265
kWh 20.5
SOC 97.4
SOH 90
Hx 85.62
AHr 56.36
Avg Temp 82.6
# QCs 32
GOM at full 102 miles

I put about 1,600 miles a month on it and it was bought primarily as a run-about and a work car. I'm looking to 100,000 miles before I replace the battery and hand the key FOB to my son to drive it to high school.

Hi Everyone,

Latest report from GetOffYourGas:

Here are my stats since changing to mode 3 on 5/26/17. Temps have been earmer, from 45-90, average around 70. Driving was the same split of highway/local with the same speeds. I saw a roughly 9% improvement overall.

Thanks for the reply Marko.

I just popped off the plastic grates under the hood and saw what you described. We had a thunderstorm earlier and the two wells were full of water. No rust at this time, but the car was only built in May so I'm glad there was none.

I agree that flexidip may not be a 100% solution since water will still sit in the well... any pinhole will hide the rusting.

Instead I fashioned a plastic hood from a small sheet of clear plastic from a strawberry container, bending the edges to hold around the outside. I wanted it clear so I can check inside without having to remove it.

Leaf won't charge as it should

I have had my 2013 Leaf for several months--I bought it used. It has 180000 miles approx. I set it to charge to 80%. AT first it did charge to 80--or within 5 points of 80. Then it started charging to less--70, 65, etc. For the last few days it doesn't seem to be charging at all. I plug in the trickle charger, the charging light comes on, and a half hour later when I come out to check, I find the charging light off and the blue charging lights on the top of the dash off as well. I restarted the process thus three times yesterday evening hoping my machine would catch my drift and start doing right by me. No dice. This morning I found it at the same level of charge as when I plugged in the charger yesterday afternoon. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem and if so, have they found a solution?
One thing else. This morning I noticed the red 12 v battery light on in the display.

And then Tesla can begin to lose more money, i.e. the gross profit (GP) for the Model 3 will be much much less
than the combined Model S & X GP. Since the GP of the Model 3 at its proposed low-end price ($35K) is marginal
at best, it becomes questionable at what Model 3 sales volume will result in a GAAP profitability for Tesla and will
Tesla ever achieve it.

This morning, the 3rd light was still blinking and the car had lost another 12 miles of range overnight (12 hrs), so I plugged it in and will visit the dealer later today.
I noticed that when I plug it in to charge, the aux battery voltage goes to 13.10V. When I unplug, the 3rd LED starts blinking again and the aux battery voltage goes to 14.42V. Totally weird.

As far as we know, all battery replacements after 2015 have been Lizard packs.

Use the Battery Tender. Check the 12 volt battery's resting voltage a few times a month, and that will tell you if you need to top it off regularly. Voltage below 12.5 indicates a low battery. 12.6 volts or better and you're fine.

I believe it disingenuous to rely purely on US sales numbers for the S & X, considering that Tesla is expanding overseas. There are a number of people who could have comfortably ordered a Model 3 years ago but stretched to buy a Model S. Secondarily, in the TMC forum link that was posted, most of what I would say has already been said regarding production constraints. Year over year sales for the S & X are up when you include global numbers.

Considering that Tesla will sell more units of the Model 3 in the last 4 months of 2017 than Chevy will sell of the Bolt for the entire year of 2017, I'm not concerned about a small drop in US sales that were made up elsewhere in the world.

Tesla(Nasdaq:TSLA) delivered just over 22,000 vehicles in Q2, of which just over 12,000 were Model S and just over 10,000 were Model X. This represents a 53% increase over Q2 2016. Total vehicle deliveries in the first half of 2017 were approximately 47,100.

How well balanced is your pack? Could it be that the Leaf does a better job of balancing it when it is charging slower (L1)?
