Ummm... in your climate (lived in the Seattle area for ~9 years), I wouldn't really sweat battery temps. You haven't seen high battery temps unless you've seen what TonyWilliams experienced at ~2:55 of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqd9qbvBoME or live in hot climates like Phoenix.
That said, I and others do wish that Nissan would provide more choices than just 80% and "100%" (not really 100%).
I have only a 2 year lease and don't live in a place has hot as TX. When charging @ work (free juice, about 2x the # of PHEVs/EVs as there are J1772 handles) or if I need to go somewhere far, I don't care about charging to 100% or leaving it at 100% for many hours, since I'm leasing.
