Are there range friendly tricks to keep fog off the windows

Does it leave any sort of residue etc.?

Might it get lessees in trouble with Nissan later on b/c something happened to the windshield?

If no and no, I'm running off to get one before the rainy windshield-foggy season starts here in Seattle.
