If the FOB only works the same as a key FOB (within eyesight), I wouldn't find it useful.Certainly agree it is not a technical safety issue. I was thinking it was just a perception/human_acceptance angle as *part* of the reason. I wonder if the general public is OK with a smaller 120v/220v J1772 handle but are a little leery of the "500v" larger handle (Chademo or CCS) and knowing it is "high voltage". Thus they may want to shut it off without touching it for partial charging scenarios.

I like the concept, but it needs to be done remotely. It's not a safety issue (if that's what they are selling it as); it's purely convenience.
